koizikart

hi i'm kz / kasey!

i'm a mostly self-taught artist.
i usually do digital art with a focus on character illustration, but i've started learning traditional art with gouache and watercolour painting too. :)
i like drawing humans, anthros, furries, monsters, aliens, and sometimes robots!

here are some of the art supplies that i use and would recommend to others!

(most of these are amazon affiliate links, so your purchase helps support me by crediting me with a small commission at no extra cost to you!)

DIGITAL ART

art program:
CLIP STUDIO PAINT

i use both the desktop version of this application, and the mobile version on my Samsung tablet. i enjoy both.

graphic tablet:
HUION H640P

this tablet is a nice size, has programmable buttons for key combination shortcuts and extra utility, and is very affordable. it also comes with extra nibs, and an artist's glove!

tablet:
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite

this is a regular tablet, not a USB graphic drawing tablet. however, it comes with a pen and i got it for drawing when i'm not at my computer and it's quite nice to use for art.

TRADITIONAL ART

watercolour paint kit:
Winsor & Newton Cotman Field Travel Set

this is the first set of watercolour paints that i've purchased, and i really enjoy them! i got this particular set for painting and sketching outdoors, but use it indoors too. it has lots of mixing space and a built-in water bottle and water cups. it's quite compact, despite the amount of features it comes with.

mini watercolour paint kit:
Winsor & Newton Cotman Sketchers' Pocket Box

i purchased this watercolour set for my partner and he really likes it. it has most of the same paints that i have in the one mentioned above, but it's much more compact.

student-grade gouache paint starter set:
Royal & Langnickel Gouache - 24 x 12ml

while not the exact pack of gouache i own (mine came with 2 brushes and 18 tubes of paint instead of 24), i have used this brand and line of gouache before. it's another cheaper student-grade gouache that's decent to start with, but probably not as good quality as some others. i found using it for experimentation and learning to be fine though.

student-grade gouache paint starter set:
Winsor & Newton Gouache - 10 x 12ml tubes

note: this is NOT the Winsor & Newton artist-grade designers gouache. this is their cheaper entry-level gouache that i started learning gouache with. it's not the highest quality in the world, but it does work fairly well and gives you an overall idea of how gouache functions for a lower price than their standard designers gouache.

artist-grade gouache paint primary starter set:
Winsor & Newton Designers Gouache - 6 x 14ml tubes

this is the higher-quality artist-grade version of the gouache listed above. this gouache has been around for a long time and is quite popular. i've been enjoying using it, it definitely is noticeably nicer to work with than cheaper gouache.
